November 25, 2021: There's no one I'm currently more awash in gratitude for than Mary Cybulski, who somehow, to my deep amazement, decided to take me under her wing and has been serving as a mentor. I'm profoundly effusive towards her all the time; today I sent a postcard to Taylor & Francis, an imprint, to thank them for her book "Beyond Continuity," which, though technically about script supervising (Mary literally WROTE THE BOOK on her first career; she's since transitioned to stills, at which she's also phenomenal; I got to spend an evening in a hotel in Antigua watching her edit) is hands down the greatest book about filmmaking I've ever encountered. If you've even a casual passing interest in how films gets made, buy a copy immediately.
