0ctober 31, 2017: A friend recently sent me Ursula K. Leguin's commencement address at Mills College; the next day I found one of my favorite of her quotes in "The Mother of All Questions:" "We are all volcanoes. When we women offer our experiences as our truth, as human truth, all the maps change. There are new mountains." I'd looked up Leguin's address before but found I never had words worthy of her; this cosmic combo, and how cripplingly topical it is, convinced me to get over myself and write to one of my guiding heroines.
