Sharon was a very specific delight: I was sitting outside the Gizzard Shack waiting to pick up a crew lunch, and she and her husband sat near me to wait for their regular order. I was in the midwest on a gig with the Biden campaign, warier of potential company than I'd like to admit, which enhanced my glee when we got into talking about trips we'd taken and Sharon mentioned that she'd made great effort to travel since retiring from the post office, a job she'd sought out for its security as a single mother. The postal service is everywhere, and constantly upping its own ante as one of my great pleasures.
