November 5, 2024: For years, I've been transcribing the artist lectures for the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, which is reliably my favorite gig. I always go in chronological order, and am feeling particularly grateful for it this year, because I am reaching out to more of the artists than not for addresses. And thus, fan mail's getting reinvigorated! It's simple kismet that I got introduced to Rodrigo Valenzuela, a true union man, as I prepare to head to my first delegates assembly with the Freelance Solidarity Project. This is the sort of thing I refer to as universal tickles - timing that's just right and allows me to feel buoyed by circumstance. I suspect Valenzuela, who has an eye for magic, would appreciate it.
