December 12, 2019: My friend Max uses lines from The Rock - that go well beyond whether you can smell what he's cooking - as inspirational quotes and confidence boosters for me, and they've proven incredibly effective. He nows addresses me exclusively as "The Jess," and, what can I say, I like it. The Rock seems, so far as I can tell, like a near-ideal person: he's evolved greatly, he has an incredible sense of humor, he's not scared of tenderness...most men could stand to learn quite a bit from him, and I would probably realistically support him were he to run for office.
